The PDP has four Partners for Justice Advocates on staff who work alongside our attorneys to provide clients with assistance with housing instability, substance abuse issues, and other holistic support.

Partners for Justice Advocates (PFJ’s) provide support to clients navigating the complexities of the criminal justice system. Through intensive training and collaboration with defense attorneys, these non-attorney Advocates provide wraparound support to clients while providing support to their attorneys.

Some examples of direct services that Partners for Justice Advocates offer include:

  • Reentry plans
  • Public benefits applications
  • Housing services
  • Transportation challenges
  • Employment/workforce needs
  • School enrollment and education
  • Medical advocacy and service navigation
  • Bail advocacy support
  • Substance abuse treatment referrals
  • Referrals for eviction defense

Acting as a bridge to community resources, civil legal assistance, and social services, Advocates work alongside our PDP attorneys to improve case outcomes, reduce jail time, and disrupt the cycle of poverty and incarceration.
